The Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster, which is labeled as the “fastest and most potent convertible” globally, was purchased by Michael Jordan for $3.5 million. As a competitive athlete, Jordan is one of the privileged owners of just 30 supercars worldwide, as per Robb Report.
The official Twitter account of Hennessey Performance shared a tweet expressing that it was an extraordinary day, along with a picture of CEO John Hennessey, Jordan and his personalized car at Grove XXIII – a prestigious golf club owned by the basketball legend. The tweet conveyed their delight in building a bespoke Venom F5 for their dear friend.
About 12 months ago, the Venom F5 Roadster was introduced to the world. This vehicle is known for its stunning carbon-fiber exterior with a touch of yellow pinstriping.
In the latter part of 2022, a total of 24 Venom F5 coupes were produced, making the convertible variant less scarce in comparison. With an expansion in production, the Venom F5 Roadster now costs $3 million, while the coupe is priced at $2.1 million. As reported by Front Office Sports, Michael Jordan’s licensing agreement with Nike yielded $256 million in the preceding year, and his Jordan Brand generated $5.9 billion. He is also a co-owner of 23XI NASCAR alongside Bubba Watson and Tyler Reddick. The Venom F5 is equipped with a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 engine that delivers 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 pound-feet of torque, coupled with a seven-speed single-clutch semi-automatic transmission. While the roadster shares several features with the coupe, such as its front design, its cabin boasts a detachable 18-pound carbon-fiber roof panel. The F5 sans canopy has a weight of 3,100 pounds, up from 2,999 pounds. The vehicle’s backside is fitted with new tempered glass that can withstand temperatures over 1,050 degrees Fahrenheit, providing a glimpse of the potent engine residing behind the passenger compartment.
